Vaccination is the most effective protection against particular infectious diseases:
Vaccination gives a similar reaction to the organism comparable to the infection by a particular infectious agent, triggering the production of antibodies which eventually the body becomes immune or more resistant to this agent (and diseases caused by its immune system).
For you pet to be protected it takes more than just one dose of vaccine. The primo vaccination (or first vaccination) consists of several reinforcements of the same vaccine split for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. Through you pet's life and dependig of the vaccine, annual or tri-annual reinforcements are mandatory.
Age of the first vaccination:
• Dogs - 6 weeks
• Cats - 8 weeks
• Rabbits - 8 weeks
Major diseases prevented by vaccination:
• Dogs - canine distemper, parvovirus, canine hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, bordetella, rabies, leishmaniasis, piroplasmosis
• Cats - herpesvirus, calicivirus, panleukopenia, chlamydia, feline leukemia
• Rabbits - myxomatosis, viral hemorrhagic fever
The vaccination schedule depends on the age and immune status of your pet, so before he’s vaccinated, we always make a careful clinical examination to be sure he can be vaccinated and the most suitable vaccine.
